Things You Did Not Know About Young Blood Therapy

By James Taylor

If there were the option of living forever, most of us would not think twice about saying yes. Being immortal seems like one of the greatest adventures there can ever be. We have seen immortality in movies for a long time. This may be what inspired the project of young blood therapy. People could actually have the option of remaining young.

The man who came up with the idea of trying out parabiosis is known as Peter Thiel. He is hell-bent on finding a cure for both death and aging. He has actually funded many projects concerning this research and volunteers to be the first patient once the project is complete. He is encouraging the rest of society to embrace this theory as he has.

Parabiosis, is the joining together of two circulatory systems one old and one young. This theory has been in existence for well over a hundred years. In the olden days scientists tried it out by opening up two rodents and sewing their circulatory systems together. It is not only for aging but for metabolism, cancer and even diabetes. With humans, it involves injecting the blood of a young person into the system of an old person.

You may be wondering how this young blood will prevent an older person from aging or how it makes them young again. Scientists believe that the cells in the young blood go one to rejuvenate the cells in the body of an older person. This theory has been tested as the blood of young rodents has been transfused into the bodies of older rodents.

The experiments done in rodents have actually been successful. Combining the circulatory system of a young mouse with that of an older one has actually produced results. Scientists have recorded that the heart, brain, and muscles of the older mouse seemed to be stronger and working better. The older mouse, in general, becomes stronger and smarter and even their fur becomes shinier.

A company by the name ambrosia in California has actually moved a step higher and have started experimenting with people. People of ages 35 will be injected with the blood of adults of ages 25 and below. They will then be put under observation for close to two years and see what effect the young blood will have on their body organs.

As much as this project may be embraced by many and since this the only way that can lead to leaving long on this world, it is unlikely that everyone will be on board at the beginning. For example, the religious community is unlikely to accept this at all since from the creation it has never been in dairies or in accounts of creation. To them, it will seem as a mockery or as a challenge to God. No doubt however that with time, they will change their minds as no one wants to become old and weak as time goes by.

If by chance this experiment actually works on people, we may be looking at the possibility of the much-admired immortality. People will actually be able to live for as long as they want since the only option is to transfuse the young blood to the older adult.
